The beautiful city of San Antonio is the perfect place to spend a romantic Valentine’s Day. Because V-Day falls on a Saturday this year, you can take advantage of the weekend time off, and spend the whole day together. Here’s what our perfect Valentine’s Day in San Antonio looks like:
Early Morning
After enjoying a delicious, homemade breakfast in bed (look here for some ideas) get ready to head out and explore romantic San Antonio
Late Morning
Stroll hand-in-hand through the San Antonio Missions National Historic Park. This incredible park is home to four stunning, and historic mission churches. Take your time exploring all of them, and don’t miss walking over to the scenic Old Mill and aqueduct, which are surrounded by the beauty of nature.
Lunch
Around noon, it’s time to head to the Farmer’s Market at the Pearl Brewery. Wander the stalls which are full of fresh, local produce, gourmet treats and artisan foods. Pick the foods that call out to you most to take on a romantic picnic lunch. We bet Ms. Chocolatier has made some special Valentine’s Day goodies. When your lunch has been procured, head over to the nearby San Antonio River amphitheater and dig in.
Afternoon
After wrapping up you lunch, you’re right next to one of the hottest attractions in San Antonio, the Rio San Antonio River Cruise. Snuggle up close and enjoy a 40-minute guided tour of the River Walk, from the river’s point of view.
Dinner
It’s time to get dressed up and enjoy a romantic, candle-lit Valentine’s Dinner at one of San Antonio’s best restaurants. The city has a ton to choose from, but here are two of our favorite romantic dinner spots:
Whiskey Cake San Antonio
This local favorite only serves up fresh, farm-to-table cuisine. The food is always in season, so the menu changes frequently. You really can’t go wrong with any of their menu options, but if you;re comfortable getting a little messy in front of your Valentine, we highly suggest starting with the duck wings.
Luce Ristorante E Enoteca
Italian is the quintessential cuisine of love, or amore. Dig into delicious antipasto like Neapolitan meatballs and arancini, before diving into a delicious bowl of homemade gnocchi. Tonight is not the night to worry about your carb consumption.
After dinner, if you are too stuffed to carry on, head back to your room for a romantic evening in. Still feel like being out and about? Head back to the River Walk area, pick the nightclub that most speaks to you, and dance the night away.
